2016 Cary Challenger

The second edition of the Cary Challenger was held at the Cary Park between 10 and 18 September 2016. The prize money remained the same as in 2015 ($50,000). The tournament was won by James McGee, who defeated Ernesto Escobedo in the final (1–6, 6–1, 6–4). Present at the start was Frances Tiafoe, who will become one of the best players of the new generation. He lost in the semifinals to Escobedo.
